My Week #48

My Week #48 in my Filofax

Taking photos for a blog post/ Watching Christmas movies on Christmas 24/ Christmas tree in town/  Christmas tree at the shopping centre/ It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas with lights on the streets/ Spending sometime with my ukulele/ Trying to start reading for my theory test again.
This week did go by a lot faster than last. The streets are starting to light up again reminding us that that time of year is here. I tried to get back into playing my ukulele again and also tried to start reading for my theory test.

My annual leave is over and so I will be starting work again tomorrow night. I have really enjoyed my 2 weeks at home but I miss work so I am kinda looking forward to getting busy again.

Hope you guys are well.
Thanks for stopping by.

Planner Supplies Storage Bag

Hey guys,

Today I thought I would show you where I keep most of my planner accessories. I don't have a lot of stationery that I use in decorating my diary pages but I thought I should find a better way of storing them rather than just chucking all of them in a shoe box.

I try not to go overboard with the stationery buying because I want to use what I have first before getting more otherwise I will end up forgetting about most of them. I do love my stationery,  but I try to focus more of my energy on the functionality of my planner rather than too much stationery.

So I went ahead and got this bag from Superdrug for £6.99. It is a make up bag but I thought it would be perfect to store my stationery supplies. This is how it looks when laying flat and folded up.

This is the view from the side.

And this is the view from the bottom.

This is how it looks when you open it up. It has three compartments which I use to store different things.

The first compartment is the largest and it looks like a normal bag with a zip which you can use to close it.

I keep all my washi tape rolls here including some labels, hole reinforcement stickers and project life cards. I don't have too many rolls of washi tape so they all fit in here perfectly.

Second compartment is smaller and has a vertical zip instead.

I keep all my sticky notes, tabs and page flags in here. Again I don't really have too many of them so they fit in here.

Third compartment is similar to the second with a vertical zip too.

And I keep all my stickers in here. There are some of the stickers that are quite long and can't really fit quite well so I cut them in half and put them in.

This is how the bag looks when folded in half.

One thing I like about the bag is it has a hook at the top and so you can hang it on the wall if you want which could save a lot of space.

So that is how I keep all my stationery supplies. I normally have another pencil case where I keep all my pens, hole punch, scissors and other planner tools but most of my stationery supplies go in this bag, I feel there are a lot of make up bags out there that could serve the same purpose especially for those who don't have too many planner supplies.
How do you guys store your stationery supplies? Please comment below. I would love to know.

My Week #47

My Week #47 in my Filofax
New dividers for my Filofax/ Watching Christmas movies/ Saturday planning and journalling/ Rubbish Saturday weather/ Trying to fill in a form from work/ Extra gift from etsy seller.
I can't believe I have only one week left of my annual leave and then I'll return to work. This week went by pretty fast. I had one shift at the nursing home but overall, I didn't get much done.

I got my new gorgeous dividers which I ordered from Natalie on Etsy. The weather this week has not been the best so I have spent most of my time watching Christmas movies. They are the best.
Hope you guys are well.

Review: Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Pens

Hey everyone,

Today, I wanted to review one of my favourite pens that I have been using in my diary pages for a while now. They are the Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Pens which I bought a few months ago from Tesco. They are normally sold for £7.99 in Tesco but I managed to get the pack for almost half the price. You can always find them on Amazon or eBay for cheaper.

The pack I got was the one with 10 pens but I have seen other packs with more pens.

The pack or case the pens came in is really sturdy and hold the pens in well. When the pens are in use, you could always place the pack next to you as shown in the picture above which makes the pens easier to take out.

The pack comes in a range of colours including yellow, pink, orange, blue, light blue, green, light green, brown and black.

The pens have very fine nibs which is also another thing I love about them.

I tested the pens on both normal A4 printer paper (left) and Filofax paper (right).

And on the back of both papers, the ink did bleed through but not as much on the A4 printer paper. You would have to bear in mind that I do press down a lot on my pens when I am writing so the bleed might not be as much for those who don't press down too hard.

  • Lightweight pens and easy to hold and write with.
  • Very affordable.
  • Come in a quite a range of colours.
  • Ink flows really well and writes thinly on the paper.
  • Colours really brighten up the pages.

  • Would have preferred a bit more colours in this 10 pack especially the colour purple. Maybe I should upgrade to the 20 pack with the colour purple.
  • The ink bleeds through if you are using light paper like the normal Filofax paper but the bleed becomes barely noticeable on thicker paper.
  • Maybe it's just me, but I find that because the pens are so thin and don't have any leather area for a good grip, they become difficult to write with for long periods of time as my fingers just slide to the bottom and I have to keep adjusting them. Again, it could just be the way I write or hold my pens.

While I was at college, I loved using coloured pens to make spider diagrams, mind maps, flow charts and flash cards. If there are any students out there who love using colour pens, I would totally recommend these pens. They will be perfect for making revision notes as they add a lot of colour to the pages.

My Inspiration: Be Yourself

It's really been long since I did one of these posts so I thought I'd do one. I found this picture online the other day and I couldn't help but share it because it just says so much.

We live in a world where everyone will always have an opinion or something to say about what we say, what we do, the decisions we take or how we generally live our lives. Sometimes, we tend to take all these various opinions being thrown at us to heart simply because we generally like pleasing others or because we are not strong enough to take a stand and fight for what makes us happy.

Everyone in life has a journey and even though we are walking through the same field, we are taking different paths and most of us have different destinations, therefore we have different experiences and different ways in which we react or deal with them.
We often find ourselves in situations involving a lot of "He said", "She said","They said". But maybe now its time to ask "What do you say?" It's your dream, your choice, your time, your life so don't miss it. You can have people around you to support you and encourage you in your journey but you alone will cross the finish line.

The ball is in your court. Keep hold of it and never let anyone take control because it belongs to you. Be yourself.

I hope the post wasn't too rambly and I have at least gotten the message across.
Thanks for reading.

My Week #46

This week. I had my last three shifts before my annual leave.
My Week #46
Yeah that's right guys. Starting from tomorrow, I will be on annual leave till the 30th of November. Two weeks of relaxing and taking a break. I think its time to get my Christmas shopping rolling.

I went into TK Maxx the other day and was really surprised to see loads of Filofaxes there for such amazing prices. The pocket and mini Maldens were on sale for only £29.99. There were so many others like the Apex, Domino, Classic, Metropol, Ashton, Finsbury, Sketch and many others. If you have a TK Maxx near you, maybe you should check out their stationery section.

I also saw this gorgeous Christmas tree in Tesco. It's that time of year again.

Finally, I only realised yesterday that I have been blogging for just a bit over 6 months now. I can't even believe it's been that long. I am very grateful for all of you lovely people out there who have stuck with me throughout and even for the new followers. Thank you for reading and commenting. I have learnt so much these past months and met so many amazing people. I know my blogging skills are still not up to par but I think I am getting there slowly but surely and all my lovely readers motivate me a lot. Hope I'm not boring you guys and that even though the quality of the photos is appalling, it's still bearable. I will get a camera in the future, I solemnly promise. I'm looking forward to many more months with you guys.
Oh and you can also join me over on twitter right here.

Thanks for reading.

DIY Filofax Pocket/Envelope

Hey people,

Today I wanted to show you guys how I made the pocket/envelope which I use in my mini Metropol. It is nothing fancy or complicated so I thought I would share this with you.

First you would need some kind of paper. I used some pink cardboard paper but you could use scrapbook paper or any other kind of paper you like. You would also need a pair of scissors, washi tape or glue, a ruler, hole puncher, a pen and a spare filofax  paper to use as a template.

Using the ruler, pen and Filofax paper as a template, draw out a rectangle on the cardboard paper. Move the Filofax paper along to the edge of the first rectangle and draw out another rectangle. Then cut it out using the scissors.

When you cut it out, it shoul look like this and you should be able to fold it in half.

Cut out a section of the paper from one side. How low you make the cut is entirely up to you.

Use washi tape to secure the edges. You don't have to use washi tape if you don't want to and you can use glue instead. The reason I used washi was because it made it prettier.

Using the Filofax paper again as a template, place it ontop of the envelope and holepunch it. I use the single hole punch because it's easier to just use the holes on the actual Filofax paper and hole punch.

Just to protect the holes, I added some hole re-inforcement stickers

The finished product looked like this.

The envelope I made was for my mini Filofax but this method would work just fine for any size Filofax as long as you use the right size paper as a template.
If you prefer a closed envelope than the top opening envelope, you can add a cover at the top or just fold out the top half to cover it up. You could even go for the slanted envelopes if you prefer them.

You can design it the way you want and get as creative as you want. Just something cute in your planner to keep receipts,  vouchers and other loose bits. Hope you found this tutorial helpful somehow.

Thanks again for stopping by.

My Week #45

This week I had three straight night shifts which really tired me out.
My Week #45 in my Filofax
This was the first time I actually worked three nights in a row and it is really tough but I'm still recovering from them.

It was Guy Fawke's Night/Bonfire Night on Wednesday night and there has been fireworks every single day this week. I have never actually gone to one of those events but I would really love to go to one. So far, I have only enjoyed looking at the fireworks from my bedroom window. I tried taking a picture but I failed many times so I just got a random picture of fireworks from the internet.

In other news, I went to 99p stores the other day and I couldn't resist getting myself another set of stickers especially for such a price.

How has your week been guys?
