Scripture Art Journal Flip Through #10

Hello everyone,

Today, I will be sharing with you pages from my scripture art journal for the month of October.
Time flies by really quickly and I can't believe I have kept this going every week since the beginning of 2015.
If you would like to have a look at my previous pages, click  here.

Week 40

Whenever I have any scriptures mentioning the Bible or the Word of God, I always have the urge to go for the drawing of a Bible. This scripture also reminds me so much of Psalm 119:11 which says "Thy Word have I hidden in my heart, so that I may not sin against thee".
The theme for this scripture art journal challenge is "I will hide His word in my heart". I don't think anyone could stress enough about how important it is for us to let God's Word dwell in us. It is so much more than just reading it, it is getting to know our Creator and having that personal relationship with Him. His Word gives wisdom, knowledge, understanding, comfort and all the answers we seek so we should not let His word depart from our hearts and mouths so the enemy will not get the chance to bring us down.

Week 41

This scripture reminds me so much of the song What a faithful God by Robert Critchley.
"Lord, I come before your throne of grace.
I find rest in your presence and fullness of joy.
In worship and honour I behold your face singing
'what a faithful God have I'"
He is the same faithful God in the days of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the same God that reigns today and He still will be the same God tomorrow. He still will always remain the faithful God.

Week 42

I really do love this scripture. It is one of the very many in the Bible that encourages us when we feel like we are situations without hope. When we feel like God is silent or that He is just taking way too long to answer our prayers. This scripture encourages us to wait upon the Lord. He shall renew our strength and mount up on wings like eagles. My favourite part of the verse is "They shall run and not be weary; and walk and not faint"
Our faithful Lord will always be there to give us strength to carry on.

Week 43

We have quite a few scriptures about peace. Eternal peace. And I don't mind that because I like to be reminded that the only true peace you can find is in the arms of Jesus.

Week 44.
You may or may not have noticed that the left hand side is a bit different than normal. That is because my friend decided to do that page which I thought was cute.

I really do love this scripture. "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart"
In very we do, we should strive to draw closer to God because the closer we get to Him, the closer He gets to us. The personal relationship with Him edifies us spiritually and physically.

Hope you all enjoyed this post. That's all I have to share for now.
Thanks ever so much for reading.
Hope you have a lovely day.
God bless.

My Week #43 (2015)

Charity Week, Fashion Show Cast List, Teddy Bear Hospital Training, Student Ambassador Training, ACS Debate

My Week 43 in my Filofax

Balloon release marking the charity week at St George's/ Eating chicken curry during lunch/ During my Student Ambassador training, we were given a tour of the uni and in one of the physiotherapy rooms we saw this skeleton chilling with an umbrella haha/ Me eating in the library-oops/ A sumo wrestling match between lecturers/ Cortical bone specimen during a histology practical.

Bible Verse Of The Week:
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid"
John 14:27

Monday:
If you read my post last Sunday, you would know by now that I auditioned for the fashion show which is basically a dance show. The cast list was released and I got in. I was so happy considering the fact that I was in so much pain after the auditions last Thursday. It was all worth it I guess.

Tuesday:
I went for the Teddy Bear Hospital training. TBH is a community project where we work with children in clinics teaching them about hygiene, first aid, healthy lifestyle and so many other fun health topics. So many of us have signed up for it so I'm guessing it will be a struggle getting a clinic as many of us will like to sign up but I will keep my fingers crossed so hopefully I can get to go to at least one clinic.

Wednesday:
I had my Student Ambassador training which was 3 hours long. After long talks and handing in our forms, they gave us a tour of the university to try and give us an idea of how to do it during open days.
Later that evening, I went to the African And Carribean Soceity debate about some key issues in the black soceity, black culture and problems surrounding our day to day lives. It was a pretty interesting evening as I got to hear the arguments from both sides and it got me thinking about lots of other issues.

Thursday:
This was the deadline for our formative essays.I had submitted mine the night before so I wasn't too stressed about it.
Later that evening, we went to a charity event where our lecturers where involved in a Sumo wrestling match. It was one of the events for our charity week here at St George's and it was such fun to watch.

Friday:
I went for gospel choir rehearsal and then for the Fashion Show social later on. We found out which dances we are in and when we are going to be practising. I am in 2 dances and 1 medley including an African dance so I am really excited.

Saturday:
I woke up late coz I was quite tired from the previous night and all I did was work and then relaxed in the evening.

Sunday:
After church, I cooked chicken stew and then did some prep for my practical on Tuesday which is going to be assessed. I also just finished watching the X Factor and I am so looking forward to the start of the live shows next week.

#Haircrush of the week
Still loving the frohawk :)

How has your week been guys?

My Week #42 (2015)

Bones And Joints, Volleyball Session, Essay Writing, Fashion Show Auditions, Open Mic Night And Sleep Over

My Week 42 in my Filofax

Loved the change in the colour of the sky. It was about to rain./ I cooked hotpot/ At the fashion show auditions/ Gospel Choir at the Open Mic Night/ At my uni family meet up eating pizza/ Dinner and sleepover with my uni mum and sisters.

Bible Verse Of The Week:
"Those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31

This week was yet another busy and painful one. You'll get to know more about the "painful" part as you read along.

Monday:
In our session in the dissection room, we learnt about bones and joints. There are so many things we have to remember in terms of names and they just had to name every point and bump on each bone in our bodies.

Tuesday:
We had our first assessed lab practical and it was 3 and a half hours long. At first I didn't think I was going to stay there till the end but my friends and I ended up leaving the lab just 5 mins before time.
At the Christian Union meeting later that evening, the gospel choir performed. One of our lecturers shared her testimony about how she met Jesus and it was such a fun talk and we had free pizza at the end.
After CU, my friends and I then went to play volleyball. I quite enjoyed it and thought it was fun.

Wednesday:
I had met my tutor on Tuesday and showed her my formative essay plan so I started writing it. It is due on the 22nd of October.

Thursday:
I auditioned for the fashion show guys and it was very very intense. The fashion show here at George's is basically a dance show and it is for charity. I love dancing and after a bit of encouragement, I decided to try it out. We were taught a dance routine which involved loads of squats(from the girls) and sliding(from the guys) and after 2 hours of trying to learn it, we had to audition with our dance partners. I was and still am in so much pain from that audition- hence the painful week. The fact that I have come down with a cold too doesn't help at all as I have been coughing and sneezing and sniffing all week.
The cast list for the fashion show will be up tomorrow and we will all also receive an email letting us know if we got in or not so fingers crossed guys.

Friday:
We had our first Open Mic Night in the Student Union Bar and again, the gospel choir were the first to perform, They loved our performance and have invited us to come back next month.
I also went to a meet up for my uni family and got to meet all the older years. I really love the family system here at George's. It's so much fun. We had loads of pizza and shared amazing and funny stories.

Staurday:
I had dinner and desert at my uni mum's house and also with my uni sisters. The food was amazing  and I love how we all get along so well even with her housemates. We were going to sleep over initially but because most of us had to wake up early this morning, we decided to walk back to halls. It was a very fun night though with many amazing stories shared.

Sunday:
I went to church this morning and I was still tired from last night so I took a long nap after church and did some work. I am just looking forward to watching the X Factor tonight.

How has your week been guys?
Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for reading.
God bless.

A Step-By-Step Faith Journal Page #3

Hello guys,

Today I am going to be sharing with you how I did one of the pages in my Faith Journal. I have done two of these posts before and if  you want to have a look at the previous posts, you can click here.

The page I am about to share was inspired by one of the lessons in my devotional -Our Daily Bread. The statement at the the end of this lesson was "In every desert, God has an oasis of grace"
I loved this and reflecting on it made me realise that God is faithful and He is always there even in times of need.

A quick search for "Oasis drawings" helped my find this picture on google images.
This was the picture that inspired me for this page. I normally use pictures from the internet to inspire me and I end up tweaking them to my liking.

So I started off by drawing a border around the perimeter of the page.

Then I added another wavy border on the inside.

Then I just added in a few bubbles as well.

Then I started drawing flowers at the bottom using my staedtler pens.

I used my stabilo triplus fineliners to colour these flowers in.

Then using my stabilo pens still, I drew a sun at the top of the page.

And I added a few clouds and coloured them in with colouring pencils.

Then I drew a palm tree in the middle of the page.

I also added in some hills and a lake.

I used my colouring pencils to colour them in. If this is a desert, then the hills are supposed to be sand dunes or so but for some reason I just felt like colouring them green.

Then I added the words.

Just to make things a little bit more colourful, I drew a purple butterfly.

And this is the final result.

These are the pens I used.

I had also done a similar thing in my Scripture Art Journal a few weeks ago and some of you might have already seen it.

The above print is also available in my etsy shop if anyone is interested.

What do you think about the page and the quote? Let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for stopping by.
God bless.

My Week #41 (2015)

First Lab Practical, African And Carribean Soceity Meet And Greet And African Show At Trafalgar Square,

My Week 41 in my Filofax

In the library prepping for a session in the dissection room/ Loving the autumn leaves/ My not-so good anatomy drawings/ Food at the African And Carribean Soceity/ At a basic biology lecture/ I cooked fried rice :)

Bible Verse Of The Week:
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever"
Hebrews 13:18

This was another busy week for me and I have a feeling it's only going to get busier from now onwards.

Monday:
Had another session in the dissection room which I quite enjoyed. I met the five other students in my group which I will be learning with for the rest of the semester. Our demonstrator was quite fun too and was a final year med student.

Tuesday:
We had our first lab practical and we were looking at microscopy and blood cells. I thought it was really interesting looking at all those blood cells under the microscope and trying to find the abnormal ones and also trying to think about what sort of  conditions could be associated to the abnormal blood films.
I decided not to go for my first volleyball session because I wasn't feeling too well. I went to the Christian Union meeting in the evening and my friends decided to ditch the Volleybal session too. When we got back to halls, we decided to watch a movie instead. We watched Insidious which I thought was really scary but now I really want to watch the second and third haha.

Wednesday:
We didn't have any lectures so I went to the library in the morning to get some work done. Then when I got back, I cooked  and then my friends and I went to the African and Carribean Soceity meet and greet. The food was really good. It was nice to have African food with others. After the meal we played games and also had a dance battle between the fresher's and returners. It wasn't my intention to join at first but I got involved at the last minute in the final round with the afrobeats. I just couldn't help it. Now they want me to audition for the fashion show. I still have to think about that.
By the way, we (freshers) won the dance battle :)

Thursday:
It was a good thing my first lecture was at 2 in the afternoon coz I was a bit tired from all the dancing and shouting the previous night. I went to a Basic Biology lecture after my last lecture to brush up on my A level biology and also to make it easier for me to grasp the concept of what we are being taught now.
Later on that evening, I got an email saying that my application to be a student ambassador has been approved and they would like me to confirm a day to attend training. They said they were expecting about 250 applications and they only choose 70 students so I was so happy when I was chosen. I am super excited for the future.

Friday:
I had my first ever tutorial and I got the chance to meet the other students in my tutorial group.

Saturday:
My friends and I went to the African Show in Trafalgar Square. This is the second time they are hosting Africa On The Square. There were loads of talented people there selling really nice african handame items including clothes, shoes, jewellery, food and there was even really good music as well. It was such a shame I didn't have enough money with me coz I felt like buying every single thing I saw.

My dashiki outfit of the day/ African print necklaces, earrings and dresses/ African print bags, hair accessories and wallets/Baby onesie cupcake stand/ My first henna

Sunday:
I am so tired today. My legs hurt a bit from all the queuing yesterday but I just have a bit of work to catch up on and that I will hopefully relax and prepare for the new week.

Hope you guys had a lovely week.
Thanks for reading.
God bless.

First Year University Halls Room Tour

Hello guys,

Today I am going to be giving you a little tour (in pictures) of my little university room. I thought I would do it now when everything is still where it supposed to be and organised. You never know what it will be like during exam time or so.
Here at George's, we get an ensuite room at halls and you could choose a standard room or a premium room. I went for the standard so this is pretty much what all the standard rooms look like.

When you walk into my room this is the view you get. There is a mirror on the right which is on the side of the wardrobe and to the left is the toilet door.

If you turn around facing the door this is what you see. There are three hooks on the right there for my coats and all.

And this is what the toilet looks like. There is also a wash hand basin, and a mirror on the right but no shower cabinet like the premium rooms. The premium rooms have also got moveable shower heads and the standard rooms don't but to be honest I don't mind this.

This is what my wardrobe looks like. There is also a very large compartment at the top but I couldn't get include that in the picture.

My desk area is on the left of my wardrobe. My bins are underneath my desk.

I have a notice board and I hung up my donut and banana kawaii squishies and this little poster my friend Becky gave me. I have also pinned a picture of my family on this noticeboard.

There is a shelf with at the top with two compartments and in one of them I keep my folders, textbooks, notebooks, envelopes, my pocket bible, whiteboard and some plastic pockets. In the compartment on the left, I keep some kitchen stuff that I don't have space for in the kitchen and I also keep some food on the right side.

This is what my desk looks like now on the right,

And like this on the left.

And this is my bed. It is a standard single bed but premium rooms have got slightly bigger beds. The bed has got three compartments at the top and there is loads of storage space underneath and on the side as well.

I put this poster up on the wall.

More kawaii thingies.

This is the view from my room. I quite like it actually.

Just had to put these on the window sill. My friend gave them to me ages ago for my 17th birthday :)

And that is what my first year uni halls room looks like, If you have got any questions, please leave a comment and I will reply asap.

Please find below a short video of my room tour if you are interested :)

Thanks for reading.
Have a lovely day and God bless :)
