My Week #30 In Review (2016)

More driving lessons, Signing My Tenancy Agreement, London Bridge And A Day Out In London

In the waiting room waiting to meet the landlord of the house I will be living in next year./ Having some hot chocolate while going through some paperwork for my tenancy agreement./ At london bridge./ Quote from the underground station./ More photos around London bridge./ The shard :)

"Dream as if you will live forever.
Live as if you will die tomorrow."

This week, I had a few more driving lessons and I drove around a lot getting used to pedestrian crossings and roundabouts and also driving at high speeds. Hopefully after a few more lessons I will become more confident and then I can maybe use my dad's car to practise driving around instead of paying for so many driving lessons. The price for driving lessons has increased which is so annoying because I really love my instructor and don't really want to go to another driving school. So my plan is to stick to my instructor but hopefully over the next few weeks when I become more confident, get less lessons and practise with my dad's car.

I also went to London this week to sign my tenancy agreement for the house I will be living in from September. I can gladly say now that I have a place I will be staying in. It has been a really stressful journey trying to find a house this year that I don't really think I would want to go through the same process again next year so I'm thinking maybe I will apply to stay at halls of accommodation in my third year. But until then, I am just happy I have been able to sort out a place at least. If you haven't read my full house hunting story, then you can do so by clicking here.
The appointment I had was in London Bridge so after that, I had a little look around and then went back to Tooting to meet up with my friend. I finally left London for home at around 6:30pm which wasn't too late.

How was your week guys?

*Review: Sunglasses From GlassesShop.com

Hello lovely people,

A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by GlassesShop.com asking me to try out one of their designer sunglasses and review it on my blog. Considering the fact that this is summer and I had been looking for sunglasses for a while now, I did not hesitate to take up the opportunity. These glasses were sent to me for free but this review is based on my very honest opinion.

Before jumping into the review, I would like to talk a bit about the website and what they have to offer. If you are looking for where to find designer glasses online, then GlassesShop.com might be worth checking out. They have a variety of collections including reading glasses as well as vintage, cat eye and tortoise eyeglasses. They also sell clip on sunglasses and prescription sunglasses too.

When I went on the website, it took me a while to actually make a decision as there were so many cute designs on there. As some of you may  know I am not a very big fan of the colour black so I was looking at some other colours. I was torn between the Monica Square sunglasses in purple and the Lauren Square multicolour sunglasses. I finally decided to go for the Monica Square sunglasses because they looked really classy to me and I am also really starting to love the colour purple.

The sunglasses came very well packaged and also in this black protective case which makes it very easy to throw in my bag and carry around.

The sunglasses came wrapped up in its cleaning cloth with the logo GlassesShop.com written on it.

My very first impression of the sunglasses when I saw it was that it looked exactly like it was on the website and it was exactly what I was expecting.

It is made of plastic and I really like the frame design and the purple colour. The colour isn't too bright and it's not too dark either so that was a plus for me. You can also tell from the logo on the lens that this is the swarovki design.

One of the things that attracted me to these glasses were the cute ornaments on the side and I thought they made the glasses look a bit more unique.

I have owned so many cheap sunglasses in the past but never designer sunglasses and I have to say that they do look and feel a lot different. You can definitely tell it is made of high quality plastic and they don't feel like the lens are going to fall off anytime soon. They also look really good on my planner :)

The only thing I didn't particularly like was the way the glasses looked on me. I felt as though they were a big too big for my face and so if I had to change anything about them, I would probably make them a bit smaller. That being said, I have to say that I do love these sunglasses and I probably will have to get used to the way it fits my face.

If you would love your very own designer or prescription sunglasses, you can get one on their website here. If you are one of those who are worried about the price like me, then fortunately, you can use the coupon code GSHOT50 to save 50% off on eyeglasses and sunglasses with free lenses.

What do you think of my pair of sunglasses?
Would you be getting one?

My Week #29 In Review (2016)

More Sun, More Driving Lessons And Out With My Friends At Turtle Bay And Sprinkles

Having a salad bowl during my break at work/ My friends and I having Cookie Sensation sundae on a waffle at sprinkles./ My yummy healthy breakfast./ On the train to Southampton. I started reading a new book called "Setting Goals"./ Having plantain at Turtle Bay./ Having jerk chicken wrap at Turtle Bay.

This week started out with more sun shinning upon us which was a blessing. I worked on Monday and it was very hot on the ward as expected. The fans seemed not to be helping very much but apart from changing our uniforms to something lighter like scrubs, I don't think we would be able to escape the heat on the wards.

I met up with my friends from college earlier this week. It is always so nice to catch up with them after months of being apart. Most of my friends from college have all graduated from uni now and they are in search of jobs. It is a strange idea to get used to but I am fine with it and I am so happy for them. They are all going into the real world now and I wish them nothing but the best. We went to Turtle Bay for a meal and then later on to Sprinkles for desert. The food was absolutely delicious. If you are in the UK, have you ever been to Turtle Bay or Sprinkles?

I also had my first driving lesson with an automatic car this week. When I started my driving lessons last year, I did 3 lessons with a manual car before going off to uni as I didn't have time to do my test before going off to uni. This time around, I decided to go with automatic and hopefully, I will be ready for my test before the year runs out.

My Week #28 In Review (2016)

Four Shifts, Sorted Out Student Finance Application, New Hairstyle And Hot Weather

Having tea break at work/ In the train going to work and I felt inspired by this quote/ More early mornings walking to the train station./ Having lunch at work.

This week was a very busy one for me because I was able to scoop up 4 bank shifts and so most of my week was spent working. I had a lot of early mornings, train journeys and moments to enjoy the beautiful sunrise so I had a lot of opportunities to take pictures. These early mornings in the summer are so beautiful as the sunrises and sunsets are always such pretty sights and I never really get tired of them.

I also was able to finally send off my student finance application and that has been sorted now.
I got a new hairstyle this week which I did myself. I used some purple ombre extensions and did two flat twists with my hair and I have received so many compliments ever since especially from patients at work. I always like experimenting with colour in my hair and I have realised that I really love purple hair. I have been seriously considering dying my natural hair purple when I finally cut off my straight ends but I guess when the time comes, I will re-evaluate and see how I still feel about the putting colour in my hair.

Don't you guys just love the nice cool weather we've been having lately? It has been very warm and I've been loving the sun. This also means that it has been very hot on the wards and running around all day doing 12.5 hour shifts in those uniforms we have in this weather is not very nice.
I am still grateful for the lovely weather though and I hope it stays like that for the rest of the summer.

How has your week been?

My Week #27 In Review (2016)

Coming Home, Going Back To Work, Passing My Exams And A Call To Pray

Saying goodbye to my empty room at uni. I am going to miss my room a lot and miss all of the space I had and the ensuite./ My first day back at work./ Having doughnuts at work. It's very hard to work on my ward and be on a diet because there are always snacks lying about in every corner./ Waiting for the train at the train station after a very long shift.

I was finally able to go back home after staying at uni for over a week after exams. If you would like to know why I had to stay back at uni, you can read my previous post here.
I had already called to book a few shifts before I came home so I started work almost immediately. It was really good to meet with my old colleagues again and to catch up. It took me a while to get used to the whole routine of being a health care assistant again but I got around it in the end.

Also, my university sent out general pass/fail results for my year and I found out I passed my exams. The uni will post out letters at the end of the month letting us know about our individual marks so I am still waiting for those.

This week was a very sad week for many people taking into consideration all the things that are happening around the world today. There has been the loss of many lives and many are still being lost as the days go by. We have come to that point where no one is safe anymore and going out and coming back alive is only by the grace of God. That is why I thought it would be important to mention that this is the time when we all need Jesus more than ever. This is the time when we all need to pray for all our loved ones, family and for ourselves. We need to draw closer to God because He is the only one that can lead us through these many shadows. We can only hide in the safety of His love because without Him we are nothing. So we should be encouraged to keep praying for one another and continue showing love to one another for there are three things that endure- hope, faith and love but the greatest of all is love.

How was your week?
Please do share some good news to some one or show some love to someone so they can be encouraged.
Thanks ever so much for visiting.
God bless.

My Week #26 In Review (2016)

P.S: I am a bit late with the weekly updates. This post was supposed to go live last Sunday but I didn't get round to actually posting it due to some problems with uploading the photos. The post for this Sunday will go live in a few days.

Binge Watching Movies, New Month And The Full House Hunting Story

My friend and I made puff puff. They came out a lot nicer than the last ones we made and they tasted nice./ Me making noodles./ I was so bored I braided my scarf with one of my extensions and then used it to make a bun. After wearing the bun for a day, I decided it was way too colourful and I took it off haha./ Trying to scan using the printer at uni./ I sent a pocket letter to my pen pal in Belgium for her 21st birthday./ I made fried rice.

I spent this week in London and even though we had finished writing all our exams, I could not go home because I had not found a house to live in for next academic year yet. So today, I thought I would finally tell you guys our full house hunting story.

We started looking for houses in May and I remember we booked our very first viewing on the 23rd. That first viewing was a horrible experience and the house was not for us in any shape or form so we booked many more viewings and for about 2 weeks we saw quite a few houses but couldn't choose any because we kept looking at ones which were available quite early. We finally found a house as a 4 (me and 3 of my friends) and we even went as far as paying the holding fee to get the house off the market. We were about to send in the guarantor forms when complications arose and the real estate agents ended up putting the house back on the market and returning our money.
Shortly after, one of my friends pulled out and we started looking as a 3. Finding a decent 3 bedroom house in London for a good price that is close to uni was a bit of a challenge for us and so we decided to get 2 other people to join us in the search and we became a 5.
Our 5 didn't even last a week and another person pulled out so we were back to a 4. This time around as a 4, we found a house we all liked and were about to pay the holding fee when one of my other friends dropped out due to personal reasons. At this point, I was quite frustrated and stressed with the whole situation. Going back to a 3 was not very ideal and we couldn't find any thing we all could agree with so in the end I decided to start looking for single rooms.
There is a Facebook page where students from my university advertise available bedrooms in the houses they live in and so I contacted one of the students who told me one of the rooms in their 3 bedroom house was available. I decided that I was going to go for that instead and I broke off from the group. Telling my friends that I didn't want to live with them anymore was a very hard thing for me to do as I felt really bad for leaving them so late in the game but it was a very stressful situation for me and I just had to take a decision which I thought was best and they understood me.
So hopefully, when all the paperwork is finalised, I will be living with 2 older years next year- one of the students will be starting her 4th year of medicine and the other does not go to my uni.

That is the whole story in a nutshell of why I had to stay back at uni after exams. Even though most students had gone home. it was not very boring staying back at halls. I watched loads of movies, lazied around all day, tried to read some books and of course did some house hunting.

It is the second half of the year 2016 and I am starting to get the summer vibe now that the sun has decided to show up more.

Song Of The Month
I am overwhelmed by Big Daddy Weave

"I delight myself in you in the beauty of your glory.
I run into your arms.
I am unashamed because of mercy.
I am overwhelmed by you."

Hope you all had an amazing week and I hope July goes well for all of you.
Thanks for stopping by.
God bless :)
