Bible Verse Of The Week
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
Deuteronomy 31:8

This week, I started lectures on Monday and we just delved straight into it just like they did for us at the start of Semester 2. We had 6 lectures on the first day and 3 of them were proper lectures. The work load has been very manageable so far and I enjoyed the first week.

I also taught a dance fitness class this week for the first time for the dance soceity. The dance soceity at my uni had asked me to teach a class before but that was for the routine I choreographed at our winning performance for the Talent showcase back in May. The fitness session I taught this week was an afrobeats dance session and even though I was a bit nervous about it at the beginning, it ended up being really brilliant and a lot of fun. I am definitely looking forward to teaching more in the future.

One of my highlights for this week was an aspirin practical we had. In this practical, student volunteers had to take aspirin tablets and then measure the concentration of aspirin metabolites in their urine. I was one of the volunteers and this meant that I had to pass urine every 30 minutes. It was alright at the start and I managed to do it at the start and also after 30 minutes but I struggled after an hour so I had to drink some more water to get my kidneys to work better haha. It was a very awkward experience at the time but now that I look back on it, it was really hilarious. I am just glad I have gotten that practical over and done with.

This semester, we will be doing a special study project which will involve writing an essay of about 2500-3000 words. We had a list of titles to pick from this week and we had to choose our top 6 from those titles. I have my eyes on a few ones that interest me so I am hoping I get one of those. We will find out which topic we have been allocated to in a few days time.

Another thing that happened to me this week that really taught me a lot is the thing that actually prompted my verse of the week above. I had an experience this week that really shook me and brought back a lot of doubts and worries in my head. I feel like lately I have been having a lot of situations where I find myself thinking the worst and doubting God's protection over my family and myself. I had the opportunity to speak to someone at my church and I am so grateful for them and my mum who took time out to encourage and make me understand that anything or anyone that wants to make me doubt God's abilities would be telling lies. I was greatly reminded this week that God is for us and He will never leave or forsake us even in our darkest moments. So we don't have any reason to be afraid or discouraged because Jesus will always be by our side if we trust Him.
