April And May 2018 In Review

I got a bit excited when I found out my university gives out their very own branded chocolates at open days/ Revision revision/ Full English breakfast for bank holiday Monday/ My books slowly moved from my bed side table onto my bed./ I donated blood for the second time/ Working on a new project regarding intentional ministry/ I dyed my hair/ Daniel fast food.

Revision, Revision, Revision
If I were to sum up the month of April in one word, it would be revision. I really do not remember doing anything else apart from revising for my exams. My first exam was on the 30th of April and I made a revision plan which I didn't really stick to in the end. It was a difficult month for me because I struggled a lot to focus and motivate myself to study but I got through it by God's grace and I am very grateful. Below is a vlog I did early on in April and when I got the chance to go for a writer's meetup where I met some other amazing christian writers.

My first exam was on the 30th of April which was for my Science of Reproduction module. This was my favourite module out of the three and I thought it went well overall. I wished the short answer questions were a little bit nicer but the essay questions were good so overall, it could have been a lot worse. My second exam was on the 2nd of May and it was for my Clinical Neuroscience module. I only had to answer 3 essay questions for this exam and I remember making a mistake when answering one of the questions which I didn't realise until the end of the exam. Overall, I thought it went well and I am grateful.

My final written exam was on the 11th of May and this was really good because I got to relax and recuperate before swinging into full on revision again. This last exam was for my module Biomedical Research Techniques For Drug Development. I loved this module as it was about research which I am interested in so it was fun learning about all the techniques involved in research. I thought the exam was alright. I almost ran out if time in the end so I had to rush but I was able to finish on time. I vlogged throughout my exam period just so I can look back on it so you can watch the video below to see what I got up to.

My Research Project Viva
After my written exams, I had to also prepare for my viva which is 20-30 minute oral exam where 2 examiners ask you lots of questions about your dissertation and you have to defend it. My supervisor helped me come up with some questions and I practised with my housemate. I thought the viva went really well and the examiners were very nice and chatty. I also vlogged this experience of preparing for my viva so you can watch the video below to see what I got up to.

Singles Legacy
In between my exams, I managed to attend a few life changing events for me and one of them was called "Singles Legacy: While You Wait." The main message from this event was titled "Surrender" and we spoke about a lot of issues concerning singleness, waiting and discovering your purpose, calling and ministry. We had some really wonderful speakers on the panel who answered a lot of questions and I was really blessed at the end of it all.

Poets In Autumn
I also was able to attend the Poets In Autumn tour for the very first time. American poets Preston Perry, Ezekiel Azonwu, Chris Webb, Joseph Solomon and Janette Ikz blessed us with encouraging yet convicting pieces of poetry and it was an amazing event. I couldn't recommend it more and I am so looking forward to going next year. I vlogged throughout the event so you can check out the video below.

Throughout April, I didn't do very much writing because I was so engrossed in exam revision. After my exams, I was able to get back to it without feeling guilty and I was editing my book which will be published this summer hopefully. There is a lot of exciting news coming for my book "Outpourings Of A Beloved Heart" so please stay tuned for special announcements over the next few weeks.

I did post quite a lot of videos over on my YouTube channel and below are some of my favourites from the months of April and May.
